ترجمے کی تنقید کے اصول (خصوصی حوالہ کیتھرنہ ریسس)
چکیده
Though we are always judgmental about every type of translation, but irony is that we are least concerned about the parameters of judging a translated work. It has almost become a subjective activity. Translations have traditionally been judged on the bases of grammar, idiom, culture, content, style, etc. Judging the quality of a translation is not merely an evaluation and a subjective activity. There must be objective rules for different types of texts. The term ‘Translation Criticism’ is not older than three decades in the West. Katharina Reiss’ book is groundbreaking in this regard, that was translated in English in 2000. The present article stresses the need to adopt the principles of translation criticism. It also discusses the different categories of texts presented by Katharina Reiss.
