اردو مرثیہ اور میر ضمیرؔ کا’’طرزِ نوی‘‘ کا دعویٰ

Abstract

Meer Zameer has made an astonishing contribution during the emerging era of Urdu Marsiya. His verses have claimed that he has introduced " New Pattern" in Urdu Marsiya and the one, whose piece of writing will be inspired by this pattern will be his ‘follower’. This research article intends to explore the evidence regarding above mentioned claim with reference to study of his poetry along with his contemprary figures like Khaleeq, Dilgeer and Faseh in establishing a new pattern of elagiac poems. It is also addressed that the classical structure of Marsiya used by Mir Anees and Mirza Dabeer in their remarkable work, itself, is a proof of the success of Zameer’s claim.
