Abstract

Iqbal had to face criticism from the outset, but he remained resolute to perform his national as well as patriotic duty. It is our responsibility to pass on the philosophy of Iqbal truly to the posterity and we should not be dishonest in this regard. Kaleem ud Din Ahmad served Patna University, India as a professor in English. He emerged as a "disputed critic" on the horizon of Urdu Literature. However, his publications were believed to be a "new dimension" of Urdu criticism. This article is a critical study of Kaleem ud Din Ahmad's vociferous publication "Iqbal-Aik Mutalia". In his book, he expressed his own opinion and ctitically analysed Iqbal's long poems. The main purpose of this article is to highlight Kaleem ud Din Ahmads's understanding of Iqbal which he expressed in his book. Along with the critical discussions of Kaleem ud Din Ahmad, this study also presents the opinions of various other researchers, critics and Specialists of Iqbaliat. Kaleem ud Din Ahmad presented his ideology under the influence of a particular mental tendency. He was accused of being greatly impressed from English language and literature. However, it is not bad to be impressed by English language and literature as it shows your extensive study which brings changes in your opinions, feelings and emotions. Iqbal himself delivered lectures in English language and studied numerous Western scholars as well. It should be taken as a positive thing since it opens up new dimensions for research, criticism and creativity. The students of Iqbaliat may invigorate and fortify the philosophy of Iqbal through this research.
