اردوزبان اوراس کارسم الخط:ایک تجزیاتی مطالعہ
Abstract
Urdu script has been derived from Persian script and Persian script is a modified form of Arabic script. Urdu script can represent all basic meaningful sounds of Arabic and Persian. Some letters of Alphabets have been formed to represent local sounds. Now it has obtained status of comprehensive and developed form of script to represent all meaningful sounds. It can fulfil the needs of Urdu language to tackle the challenges of modern linguistic era. In this research article an effort has been made to explain the unique and unparalled features of Urdu script. All suggestions to replace it with Roman script have been rejected by the majority in the past. It is a model of short handwriting and has charming and attractive visual figures in the form of letters. It has been remained impossible to replace it because in this way Pakistan may lose its cultural, literary and historical assets and heritage.
