About the Journal
About the Journal
The Journal of Contemporary Poetics (JCP) is a bi-annual, double blind peer-reviewed interdisciplinary journal published by the Department of English, International Islamic University, Islamabad, Pakistan. Apart from research articles, JCP occasionally publishes book reviews and conversations with contemporary scholars and writers.
Aims and Scope
Situated in Pakistani academia, JCP provides a platform to researchers and scholars to engage in research situated at the cusp of the local and the global, inviting cross-cultural mediation that articulates perspectives stemming from various socio-political and discursive positions. Our key objective is to maintain high standards in research that are on a par with global research culture in academia. Apart from its primary concern with literary and linguistic studies, JCP gladly embraces research that interweaves perspectives from different disciplines – cultural studies, the social sciences, natural and applied sciences, computing, media and communication, etc. Based at the International Islamic University, Islamabad, JCP also publishes special issues occasionally to initiate debates that are not necessarily West-centric and invite an unsettling of hegemonic narratives and power relations that have continued to shape the contemporary world.
JCP is not interested in publishing purely empirical research. However, empirical research that is theoretically engaged may be considered by the Journal.
