Abstract
Islamic Finance is based on the sprit, philosophy and principles of Shariah. The Shariah contains the foundations upon which financial system from an Islamic perspective is established. In order to Islamic economic system in accordance with the teachings of the Quran & Sunnah, various efforts were made since 1947. Pakistan's first Constituent Assembly adopted the Objectives Resolution, which stipulated that the country's Muslims should be enabled to order their lives in accordance with the teachings and requirements of Islam. To achieve the objective, different institutions were established, Islamic Research Institute (IRI) is one of them. The Institute is a pioneer Pakistani Institute, which was proposed in the Article 197 of 1956 Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan. The Institute was established for development of appropriate methodologies for research in various fields of Islamic Learning. The Institute has published various books on Islamic Economics, Fiqh al-Muaamalat al-Maliyah. The main purpose of this study is to highlight the importance of literature on Islamic Finance published by IRI, which provides guidance and framework on which the directions of the industry is set. Hence the literature on Fiqh al-Muaamalat al-Maliyah is in Arabic and to facilitate the common readers, the institute has translated the original work from Arabic into Urdu language. The paper concludes that well-functioning economic system can only be possible through Shariah.It is a condition of publication in this journal that authors assign copyright or license publication rights of their articles to the Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University, Islamabad. This enables IRI to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Furthermore, the authors are required to secure permission if they want to reproduce any figure, table, or extract from the text of another source. This applies to direct reproduction as well as "derivative reproduction" (where you have created a new figure or table which derives substantially from a copyrighted source).
