Abstract

Bibliometrics is statistical analysis of scholarly publications. This paper presents the biblomatic analysis of research journal: Islamic Studies regular. The data was collected for study from printed volumes and PDF files of research journal for selected period of ten years. Three hundred and ninty five (395) scholarly items were analysed from different aspects to find out volume wise distribution of articles, authorship pattern, gender wise distribution, ranking of authors, length of articles, and number of references per article and country wise contribution and subject wise contribution of authors. The study revealed that the ratio of the male writers is dominant; the contribution of Pakistani authors is more than the contribution of foreign authors. A reasonable number of articles of length 21-30 pages is followed by 11-20 pages. Forty one percent articles have used 51-100 references. Majority of the articles have single author. Most of the articles are written on law and fiqh (Islamic law) and followed by Muslim history.
