Abstract
This article discusses three great books on Tasawwuf, Al-Rissil al-Qushariyyah, Risalah Qushariyyah and Kitab al- Luma fi al-Tasawwuf. These early books have a great impact on all books on the subject authored by later eminent sufis. Their authors set a tradition to base issues of Tasawwuf on the Quran, Hadith, sayings of companions of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and sufis of first three centuries of Islam to show that principles of Tasawwuf are the same of Fiqh and other Islamic sciences. Due to great importance of these trendsetting books, Islamic Research Institute, IIU, Islamabad got them translated from Arabic into Urdu language, published and reprinted them several times because of their increasing demand by a large Urdu readership in Pakistan and abroad.
These books are significant to uplift moral values, charity, helping others, dedication to good deeds and a peaceful living in any human society, that’s why many eminent orientalists had rendered their services to discover early manuscripts of great books on Tasawwuf, edited, translated and published them like the books discussed in the paper.
It is a condition of publication in this journal that authors assign copyright or license publication rights of their articles to the Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University, Islamabad. This enables IRI to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Furthermore, the authors are required to secure permission if they want to reproduce any figure, table, or extract from the text of another source. This applies to direct reproduction as well as "derivative reproduction" (where you have created a new figure or table which derives substantially from a copyrighted source).
