Abstract

Islamic Law was the law of land during the entire Muslim reign of Indian subcontinent which lasted almost for the thousand years. It was, therefore, natural that the Muslim jurists of the time devoted a considerable attention on the procedural aspects of application of Islamic Law. The result was the production of rich heritage on the subject. This paper briefly surveys the classical as well as modern literature produced by this part of land and provides historical analysis on its development.
