This article focuses on the different aspects of electoral process in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah. It supports the view that the Qur’an and Sunnah give us the basic principles to make existing process harmonized with the spirit of Islam. In this regard, it elaborates the religious importance of establishing a government, its prerequisites and the basic rules for the Islamization of electoral process.
