Abstract
The exegesis of the Holy Qura’n is subject to specific rules of interpretation derived from Arabic language and other sources. The exegetes have been using several qira‘at-e-mutawatirah as an interpretive tool. Besides these qira‘at-e- mutawatirah there is a type of qira‘at named qira‘at-e-shadhdha which has a considerable impact over the Qur’anic exegesis. This article aims to study different features of this type of qira‘at and their impact on Qur’anic interpretation.
