The Attitude of Lay Man towards Controversial Fatāwā on Particular Issue
Abstract
The dissenting opinion is the integral part of human nature. The status of Islamic sources may be understood differently by some scholars which lead to opine differently. Keeping in view the evidences given by all the scholars, the dispute may be resolved. The importance of that issue increases if such issue has any relevance to the shar‘īah. In a society where followers of multi sects are living, the issue becomes on the fire line, if some scholars of different sects issue different fatwa on the same issue. The social media has become the hub of such fatāwā. In such situation the black sheep find the ground to malign the religion and religious scholars and also lay man get confused about the religion, in such conditions what should a lay man do in order to compline the shar‘īah rulings. There are various opinions about this situation that in this condition what a lay man should do. This study concludes on the basis of analytical study that a lay man in such condition should practice his educational capabilities in order to find out the verdict given by various scholars which is nearer to the shar‘īah, given by some scholars and then acts upon it.
