علم تخريج الحديث: مقارنة التخريج التقليدي بالإلكتروني ......................................... The Science of Takhrij al-Ḥadith: a Comparison between Traditional and Electronic Modes
Abstract
This paper introduces the science of determining the locus of the Prophet’s traditions and compares the classical methods of search with electronic modes prevalent today.
According to the writer’s view, the old method of search still has clear advantages over the current electronic modes despite the apparent convenience of the latter. In the old method, the searcher was not confined to specific information by virtue of going through numerous looks directly. This extensive search expanded the students knowledge of hadith. The electronic modes of searching the locus of hadith do not deliver the authenticity and grasp of the field which characterized the old method of takhrij. This quick access to electronically organized information has encouraged non-specialized scholars to enter the field without sufficient qualification. The writer concludes. It is a condition of publication in this journal that authors assign copyright or license publication rights of their articles to the Islamic Research Institute, International Islamic University,Islamabad. This enables IRI to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Furthermore, the authors are required to secure permission if they want to reproduce any figure, table, or extract from the text of another source. This applies to direct reproduction as well as "derivative reproduction" (where you have created a new figure or table which derives substantially from a copyrighted source).
