The Concept of “Fiṭrah” in Prophetic Traditions and Its Impact on the Revival of Human Prosperity
الملخص
The article highlights the concept of “fiṭrah” as explained by the Prophet (peace be upon him).The Prophetic traditions urge to reform deviation and distortion that afflict human soul, morals, and behavior. Pure fiṭrah (primordial human nature) is a fundamental factor in the Islamic da‘wah and education. The adoption of original Islamic economic, social, and cultural principles is necessary to reform the deviated fiṭrah. The fiṭrah is a word that makes a person Muslim. According to the Prophetic traditions, the word fiṭrah has following meanings: covenant, human nature, Islamic image, and sunnah. A child’s parents are the first who may influence his or her fiṭrah. The Prophetic mission of tawḥīd (monotheism) represents the first step towards the creation of a good social life and development of healthy human thought.
