The Science of Ḥadīth in Iraq during the Twelfth and Thirteenth Centuries AH

This article deals with analytical and historical studies regarding the development of the literature of ḥadīth and its sciences during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries AH within the territory of Iraq. It was considered an important city of the Muslim state at that time due to its cultural, intellectual and political development. Unfortunately, in the later centuries, Iraq witnessed scientific stagnation caused by political conflicts, frequent turmoil, and an increase in epidemics and disasters. The science of ḥadīth was one of the major disciplines that were affected by that tragic reality. However, despite the tragic conditions of Iraq in that era, numerous scholars continued their educational and academic contributions and scientific composition. Likewise, experts in the field of ḥadīth and its sciences also contributed in this regard. Therefore, I have discussed the efforts of these scholars in this research paper.
