الملخص
This paper aims to deal with different types of interrogative particles in the Prophetic traditions narrated by Imam Bukhari in his famous hadith collection. Furthermore, this study intend to show that questioning techniques in religious discourses are very effective in conveying the message. Such questioning techniques of the Companions of the Prophet aimed to fully understood the Prophet’s intention. This clearly explains the significance of question in the saying of the Prophet. Interrogation in Arabic language is called istifham, which means asking questions for the purpose of understanding. Istifham is formed by using certain interrogative particles called adawat al-istifham.Interrogative tools play an important role in classification of the interrogative sentence, which may depart from its original meaning to other semantics and convey specific meanings understood from the text and context.
