Language Editing of Arabic Manuscripts: A Guide

This article aims to describe the basic rules and principles of editing theses, research papers, and books written in Arabic. The importance of language editing of academic publications has long been acknowledged. Moreover, many PhD dissertations are sent to Arab countries for evaluation and in many cases, the evaluators criticize the poor standard of academic language. Therefore, it is the need of the hour to explore the significance, rules, and principles of language editing of writings composed in Arabic. For, this purpose the study draws upon relevant material as well as upon personal experiences.
