Abstract

The study examines the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) strategic use of information as a decisive factor in establishing and strengthening the Islamic state. It demonstrates how the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) early experiences in trade, travel, and social observation equipped him with profound informational awareness that shaped his approach to preaching, leadership, and statecraft. The research highlights the centrality of intelligence gathering, secrecy, and verification of information in the Prophet’s methodology, both in Meccan and Medinan contexts, particularly in relation to Dawah, diplomacy, migration, intelligence, and military expeditions. The article underscores that accurate knowledge of people, geography, cultures, and political alliances was indispensable for the Prophet’s success in diplomacy, warfare, and governance. It further argues that information, when employed ethically and strategically, becomes a weapon as vital as material strength in securing the survival and expansion of the Muslim community. The study also draws parallels with contemporary realities, stressing the necessity for Muslim societies to recognise the enduring significance of information in safeguarding identity, fostering resilience, and engaging with global powers.
