The significance of singularity of narrators of hadith in al-jarḥ wa al-taʿdīl by ibn abī ḥātim: the letter “baa” as a model
Abstract
This research examines the significance and reasons of those twenty-two narrators of Hadith, which was declared afrād by ibn abī ḥātim in al-jarḥ wa al-taʿdīl. Before this, Imam Bukhari had included these among the afrād and described them in one chapter. It is not appropriate to claim that only the strangeness of their names is their only reason, but by looking at the biography of these narrators, it becomes clear that there are things related to the narrator in terms of ignorance. In addition, other things have nothing to do with the narration, but rather with the characteristics of the narrators, such as the uniqueness of the nickname, such as abū hind al-darārī. To find out the factors due to which these sources of Hadith have been declared unique, an attempt has been made.
