Abstract

The article discusses an important character of the mother of the believers, Aishah (RA). It concentrates on her contribution to society, studying her views on women’s rights. It also discusses the most prominent areas of women’s rights such as personal, social, economic, educational, and political along with the methodology of Aishah (RA) in this regard. The article brings up the Prophetic traditions that relate to this study. It also highlights the importance of academic study of the biographies of the female Companions of the Prophet (peace be on him). The article concludes that Aishah (RA) was a female leader in her time. She was an influential figure in society. She followed a moderate approach to women’s rights. Contemporary Muslims can benefit from this approach in addressing contemporary issues relating to women’s rights, without compromising on their values and identity.
